Operation “Pick Up Sticks”

Operation “Pick Up Sticks”

November 21, 2021 0 By Editor

In the fall of 2021, management became concerned with disorganization across all areas of operation. Several years of work-from-home and ‘remote’ operations resulted in significant layers of deadwood.  In February 2020, in response to COVID-19, work-from-home operations became the norm. After additional COVID induced home operations, it became clear to all that the accumulation of deadwood had accelerated and only drastic measures could restore some semblance of balance.

On Saturday, November 13th 2021, management commenced with operation “Pick Up Sticks”.  Envisioned as a quick win effort to identify and reorganize deadwood, the original plan called for routine operations on Friday, commencement of the special operation on Saturday, wrap-up of the special effort on Sunday, and a return to normal operations on Monday. This optimistic forecast did not survive first contract; elimination and reorganization provided to be more challenging than planned. New tools were obtained and modern methods developed to deal with a much larger volume of deadwood then originally envisioned.

On November 17th 2021, management declared operation “Pick Up Sticks” a success. Final cleanup efforts will continue at a reduced rate; however, 95% of operational goals are complete. Order is restored. Post operational snapshots of work areas confirm successful completion of planned goals.
